History

060 EA 114

This is a repaint of the class 40 EA 114, build in 1973 by Electroputere Craiova. The locomotive belongs to the Cluj-Napoca depot.
This locomotive has a special paint scheme featuring white accents and red stripes on the sides and chassis giving it a very recognizable look and allowing it to stand out more. In the past, it also featured the Cluj-Napoca depot emblem, which is currently moved on EA 729. This locomotive was retired for a few years due to technical issues and came back on track fairly recently in just decent condition.
This paint scheme represents the look of the locomotive as of 2021 with its specific paint scheme and unfortunately no emblem, serving CFR Călători passenger trains.

060 EA 357

This is a repaint of the class 40 EA 357, build in 1978 by Electroputere Craiova. The locomotive belongs to the Cluj-Napoca depot.
This locomotive benefited from a complete modernization by Reloc Craiova giving it a very recognizable look along with the ICOL equipment. It features white accent colors, headlight accessories, and an off-center air conditioning module.
This paint scheme represents the look of the locomotive as of 2020, before suffering a nasty accident hitting the back of a truck at a railroad crossing and damaging one of the driving posts, serving CFR Călători passenger trains.

060 EA 502

This is a repaint of the class 40 EA 502, build in 1981 by Electroputere Craiova. The locomotive belongs to the Cluj-Napoca depot.
This locomotive recently benefited from a complete restoration by Reloc Craiova after a decade’s absence on the Romanian railroads, being the first CSAM locomotive to go through this process. It was and still is known as one of the most reliable locomotives of the depot both before its retirement and after its restoration, with some engineers claiming that they would have to pass through the engine room only for changing the driving post. It is now more alive than ever, having two teams of engineers taking care of it and customizing it to become “the most unique locomotive in Romania”. It features LED lights, a newly redesigned blue interior, white stripes, and many flags and accessories.
This paint scheme represents the look of the locomotive as of 2022 with its white stripes and specific accessories, proudly serving CFR Călători passenger trains.

060 EA 701

This is a repaint of the class 40 EA 701, build in 1984 by Electroputere Craiova. The locomotive belongs to the Cluj-Napoca depot.
This locomotive benefited of a complete modernization by Remarul Cluj-Napoca giving it a very recognizable look, being one of only three locomotives sharing this appearance. It features all the European identification details along its case and has blended the red and white scheme with blue accents along the bogies and undersides.
This paint scheme represents the look of the locomotive as of 2020, serving CFR Călători passenger trains.

060 EA1 747

This is a repaint of the class 41 EA 747, build in 1985 by Electroputere Craiova. The locomotive belongs now to the Cluj-Napoca depot.
Originally belonging to the Bucharest depot, this locomotive came to Transilvania as an exchange for EA 671, which was destined to be modernized with ICOL TSAM equipment. Since Bucharest needed high-speed locomotives for the trains to Constanța and Brașov, and the Cluj depot not having qualified personnel for the TSAM technology, this exchange had happened. The locomotive still sports the Cluj-Napoca depot emblem, previously seen on EA 701 and it has been one of the depot’s long runners before having its place taken by its twin EA 449. It is still well taken care of and considered one of the workhorses of the depot. It still has the recognizable look of a Bucharest locomotive with its red roof and clean interior.
This paint scheme represents the look of the locomotive as of 2022, serving CFR Călători passenger trains.
